OPF Launches Bold Anti-Encroachment Drive in Lahore: Reclaims Land for Overseas Pakistanis.
Lahore, 19th February 2025 – In a decisive move to protect the rights of overseas Pakistanis, the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) under the dynamic leadership of Managing Director Mr. Mohammed Afzaal Bhatti, has successfully reclaimed illegally occupied land in OPF Town, Lahore. This marks the second phase of OPF’s aggressive Anti-Encroachment Drive, which took place on 18th February 2025.
The operation was initiated following Mr. Bhatti’s recent visit to Lahore, where he uncovered alarming reports of persistent land grabbing in OPF Lahore Society. Acting swiftly, the Managing Director personally engaged with Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz, and secured the full support of the District Administration and Lahore Police Chief to launch an immediate crackdown.
With the unwavering backing of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Punjab Police, the OPF team braved resistance to dismantle illegal constructions, ensuring that the land is preserved exclusively for the benefit of overseas Pakistanis. This bold action underscores OPF’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of Pakistanis living abroad.
In a strong statement, Managing Director Mr. Mohammed Afzaal Bhatti declared, “The Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed us to take back all illegally occupied land and we will not rest until this mission is accomplished. I warn all land grabbers to vacate the properties immediately, or face severe legal consequences. “He further emphasized that OPF will show zero tolerance towards encroachers and will continue to take strict action against those who exploit the land meant for overseas Pakistanis.
Chairman OPF Mr. Syed Qamar Raza, commended the MD’s efforts, stating, “This is just the beginning. OPF will not rest until every inch of encroached land is reclaimed.”
