Biography
Momin Saqib born November 1994 made history by becoming the first ever non-European national to become president of the prestigious King’s College London (KCL) student union having 144 years long history, for one year, after a fiercely fought election.
Momin Saqib, who hails from Lahore, is currently a student of BSC Computer Science & Management and will be representing 30,000 students in his role as president of the union. Momin was able to secure 2200 votes and gained victory against 7 competing candidates after fighting a fiercely fought competition. Mr. Saqib paid numerous international trips to the Arizona State University in USA & University of New South Wales in Australia on behalf of King’s College London to strengthen the alliance between student bodies and increase student engagement with these respective universities.
Mr. Saqib intends to impart the skills and experiences gained by the virtue of his position to bring about positive change that is needed in Pakistan. His future plan lies in tackling the challenges related to Islamophobia and bringing the student communities together for a larger interest.
