Islamabad (the 14th November, 2017) H.E. Mr. S. Babur Girgin – Ambassador of Turkey along with high level Turkish delegation called on Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) - Pir Sadaruddin Shah Rashidi to discuss the areas of mutual interest related to skilled/semi-skilled migration and facilitation of Pakistani migrants in Turkey. Minister OP&HRD was accompanied by Federal Secretary M/o OP&HRD, MD-OPF, MD-OEC, DG Bureau and Secretary WWF.

Ambassador of Turkey was accompanied by a high powered delegation consisting of Mr. Mehmet Kose – President of Turks abroad and related communities of the Prime Ministry Office – Institution In-charge of Scholarships for university students, Mr. Fatih Kucuk – Presidency of Turks Abroad and related communities of the Prime Ministry Office – Central Asia Coordination and other senior officials representing the Turkish government.

The Honorable Minister acknowledged the interest of Tukey in the bilateral relations with Pakistan. Areas of mutual interest and cooperation in various fields of labor migration came under the discussion including the facilitation of Pakistani youth for employment opportunities in Turkey.

Minister informed the delegation that Pakistan has trained and skilled manpower in different trades belonging to agriculture and veterinary, automobile, construction, health, information technology, manufacturing & textile sectors. It was proposed to the Turkish delegation that Turkish economy may benefit from the expertise of Pakistani workers. Honorable Minister also suggested that Turkey may consider accrediting Pakistani reputed technical and vocations training institutions. Both sides also expressed interest in the development of linkages & learn from each other for carrying out programs for welfare of respective expatriates.

The Turkish delegation welcomed the propositions for mutual cooperation furnished by the Minister OP&HRD and said that Turkey considers Pakistan its close friend and assured the minister of all possible cooperation in moving forward in areas of mutual interest.
