Chairman Board of Governors of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Amjad Malik is a Barrister at Law from Lincolns Inn and an Advocate of the High Court (Punjab). He is a life member of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan and Lahore High Court Bar Association. He is the first Asian elected President of the Rochdale Law Association in Greater Manchester in UK in its 100 year history of the Rochdale Law Association. 

He practices as a Solicitor- Advocate of the Supreme Court of England and Wales with over 18 Years of experience of constitution, national security, and immigration & human rights law. He is awarded ‘Young Human Rights Lawyer Award’ for the year 2000 by Liberty, Justice and Law Society Gazette for defending domestic violence victims of Asian origin. In 2001 he was branded ‘Young Pro Bono Solicitor of the year award 2001’ for acting in a case up to House of Lords free of cost. He petitioned in the Supreme Court on the dismissal of the Chief Justice of Pakistan post 9 March 2007 and acted for Premier Nawaz Sharif as his lawyer when he travelled to Pakistan on September 10, 2007 from exile. 

Barrister Amjad Malik was declared by The Times (London) lawyer of the week in June 10, 2010 for acting as a solicitor-advocate from his Rochdale office pro bono for three Pakistani students in a deportation appeal hearing at a Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) in London and won the appeal against deportation. He is a writer of two books based on his past writings and articles as “Road to Justice’’ in 2007 and in 2008 “Road to Democracy”. 

As the Chairman Board of Governors of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, he looks into the policy matters pertaining to welfare of Overseas Pakistanis. Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, has always acknowledged the significance of the overseas Pakistanis, considering it an inseparable part of Pakistan’s strength. To use this tremendous potential, the Government of Pakistan established a structure for liaising with overseas Pakistanis. The Government of Pakistan set up a complete new Board of Governors in April 2016 which is consisted of members from different region & walks of life. For the first time in the history of the OPF as an organization, an Overseas Pakistani is elected as a Chairman of the Board of Governor of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation. 

Overseas Pakistanis Foundation is providing multi-dimensional services to the overseas Pakistanis and their families in the field of health, education, financial aid, rehabilitation, housing, Foreign Exchange remittance. OPF runs an online complaint service to take complaints from Overseas Pakistanis from within the country and abroad.
